Free ways to support the Forest
There are many ways that you can donate to support our work creating and conserving England’s largest new native broadleaf Forest, but did you know that you can also be a Forest Fundraiser without it costing you a penny? Our Community Partnerships Officer, Ros Anscombe shares her top 5 easy and free ways for you to help grow the Forest.
5 free and easy ways to support the Forest
1. Set up a Facebook Fundraiser
You can now set up a Facebook Fundraiser to raise funds for us if you are celebrating a birthday, anniversary or another special milestone, instead of receiving presents. Find out how.
2. Shop online
With more and more of us shopping online you can support us for free by going through Easy Fundraising and Give As You Live. There are over 4,000 shops and sites to choose from and we receive a donation every time you use #easyfundraising or #giveasyoulive to shop with them.
Additionally if you love Amazon you can raise funds for us when you purchase goods by using Amazon Smile, which donates a percentage of your total spend to the Forest.
3. Sell items on eBay
Spring is a great time to have a clear out of your wardrobe or that spare room! Instead of contributing to more landfill, you can list your items on eBay and choose to donate anything from 10% to 100% of your sales to the Heart of England Forest. Choosing to support us in this way can save you money on your fees as eBay waives the same percentage in fees. Click here for details.
4. Raise money from unwanted items
Have you got books, CDs, DVDs, games or phones you want to sell? Use Ziffit to receive money for your goods to then donate to us. By sorting out your clutter you can streamline your home, create space and help to grow the Forest for people and wildlife.
5. Send a card
Instead of sending a card to your friends and family, send an e-card through Don’t Send Me a Card. Save paper, go green and support us at the same time. If you do prefer to send a physical card you can still donate to us through Making a Difference. Choose a card design and donation amount – you can opt to declare your support on the inside of the card to raise awareness of the Heart of England Forest.
