Alne Wood Park Natural Burial Ground has been named Regional Winner for the West Midlands in The People’s Award by the Association of Natural Burial Grounds (ANBG) - for the second year in a row.

The People’s Award holds particular significance as it is voted for by families and recognises not only sustainability and facilities, but the compassion, personal care and lasting impact provided by burial ground teams. The award celebrates those who go above and beyond to support families during some of life’s most difficult moments.

This year’s recognition reflects the dedication of Carl Masters, Alne Wood Park Coordinator, and James Booth, Estates Manager, whose empathy, professionalism and genuine care have made a profound difference to the families they serve.

“We are incredibly proud to receive this award for a second consecutive year, It means so much because it comes from the families who have trusted us to care for their loved ones. Their support and kind words are truly humbling.”

The burial ground is part of a 40-acre site which is owned by the Heart of England Forest, a charity that is creating and conserving native broadleaf woodland in the Midlands. This connection to the Forest ensures the long-term future of Alne Wood Park as an eco-friendly place of rest.
