Top fundraising tips

Here are our top 5 fundraising tips to increase your chances of success

  1. Take your fundraising online

Set up an online giving page which you can share with all your family, friends and colleagues to maximise your donations. Not only is it quick and secure, it cuts out having to pay cash or cheques into a personal bank account first before sending any funds to us.

  2. Set yourself a target which is ambitious but not ridiculously so.

Remember you can always raise your target on your online giving page if you've done brilliantly and reached it earlier than expected.

  3. Let people know you're fundraising through social media and keep them updated with your progress.

Include how your planning or training is going and what you're excited about. Don't forget to post on community pages - your fundraiser may be the one they've been waiting to donate to!

  4. Tell your story about why you are fundraising for the charity.

Do you have a personal story to share and help engage people? Add lots of photos or a video to make your fundraiser come alive for your sponsors.

  5. Remember to say thank you.

Once you've finished your fundraising event or activity let everyone know how you did and express your thanks for their support. This may prompt people to give you the final donations you need to reach your target.
