Monthly club for 11 - 18 year olds

Get outside. Learn new skills. Make a real difference. 

Love being outdoors? Want to meet new people, learn practical skills, and help protect nature? 

Young Foresters is a free monthly club for 11 – 18 year olds who want to get hands-on in the Heart of England Forest. Whether you're already passionate about wildlife or just looking for something different to try, everyone is welcome. 

Together, we'll explore woodlands, learn about the natural world and take part in real conservation projects that help wildlife and tackle climate change.

The sessions are held on the second Saturday of each month starting on 12th September 2026, from 10am to 1pm, at sites across the Heart of England Forest. 

What will you do? 

Every session is different, but you could be: 

  • Collecting seeds from our woodlands to become the next generation of Forest trees   
  • Planting trees and helping new woodlands grow 
  • Looking for wildlife and carrying out biodiversity surveys 
  • Learning woodland management and conservation skills 
  • Discovering more about climate change, habitats and biodiversity 
  • Taking part in outdoor challenges and nature-based activities 

You'll be working alongside experienced staff and other young people who care about making a positive impact.

Everything you need is provided, including tools, protective equipment, and expert guidance, so all you need to bring is yourself.

Young Foresters is free to join and open to everyone aged 11 – 18. We've created a welcoming, supportive environment where everyone can feel comfortable getting involved, including young people who are neurodiverse or new to spending time outdoors. 

If you're completing your Duke of Edinburgh Award, many of our sessions can also count towards your volunteering section.
