Beginners’ Outdoor Cooking

Saturday 12th September, 10:00 - 14:00

This workshop is designed for beginners, rather than bushcraft experts. It is suitable for adults and secondary school aged children (who must be accompanied by a paying adult). No dogs please.

If you are interested in what you can cook on the garden fire pit or how to make tasty treats on a spirit camping stove, this workshop could be for you. The workshop will be led by members of our Learning and Skills Team. For much of the time we will be in the beautiful Gorcott Hill Wood- a site not normally accessible to the public. During the workshop we will look at lighting and building fire for cooking, equipment tips, fire and stove safety, cooking with a spirit stove, making flat breads or pancakes which can be cooked quickly over coals, making vegetable and fruit kebabs and baking in coals.
