Redditch Mini Foresters
Saturday 24 August, 14:00 - 16:00

Mini Foresters is our monthly club in the Forest where children can enjoy activities in our wonderful woodland at Gorcott Hill . Each month the activities will change and reflect the seasons, the flora and fauna and the history and geography of the area. Come and join us for fires, dens, tool use, bushcraft skills, wildlife and the odd toasted marshmallow,

The group is intended for families with children between the ages 4-11 and runs on the last Saturday of every month all year round. Our entry ticket includes up to 5 people, at least one of whom is an adult responsible for the group.

WildTribe Holiday Club - Middle Spernal Summer Sessions
Tuesday 27 August, 08:30 - 17:30

If your children love to explore the outdoors, WildTribe is for them. We host children aged 4-12 in our wonderful Forest taking advantage of all the diverse opportunities of the natural world; from cooking on an open fire to whittling, den building, orienteering, wildlife watching, wide games, or just relaxing in a wonderful wild space.

We run the sessions in two groups: one for children predominantly aged 4-7 and one for older children aged 7-12. The staff leading each group devise age appropriate activities and differentiate for the different skills and abilities of older and younger children.

£36 plus fees

Woodland Walk: Ramble around the Founder's Walk in Dorsington
Saturday 31 August, 08:30 - 10:00

Join us on a led walk around our waymarked Founders walk. A 4 mile route that takes in a mosaic of farmland and woodland, including new planting, young trees and established woodland. The easy going trail also takes in Colletts Pond and the Founder's Rock. Led by Sam, a member of the Forestry team, you will have the opportunity to ask questions as you go about the work we do, the Forest and it's Wildlife, and what he loves most about working in the Forest.

Children under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult. Dogs on leads are welcome.

Ceramic woodland animal workshop
Saturday 7 September, 10:00 - 15:30

Enjoy a day of sculpting a hedgehog in clay with ceramicist Ros Ingram, inspired by the wooded landscape of the Heart of England Forest. Your Forest animal will be approximately 20cm in height perfect for placing on a mantelpiece or shelf gazing out into the world!

All workshop materials and tea/coffee/biscuits are included in the price. Clay and firing of work included in cost of workshop. Your piece will be fired by the artist and will be posted approximately three weeks later.

Young Foresters in the Heart of England Forest
Saturday 7 September, 10:00 - 12:30

Young Foresters is a volunteering and adventure club for young people aged 12-18. Our Young Foresters have many adventures in the Forest as well as taking part in a number of forestry and conservation tasks: take action to combat climate change, benefit from spending time outdoors, improve your physical and mental health, forge new friendships and gain valuable work experience.

The young people attend independently supported by our experienced staff.

Mini Foresters

Mini Foresters is our monthly club for families with children between the ages 4-11 where children can enjoy activities in one of out wonderful woodland spaces. Each month the activities will change and reflect the seasons, the flora and fauna and the history and geography of the area. Come and join us for fires, dens, tool use, bushcraft skills, wildlife and the odd toasted marshmallow.

Our entry ticket includes up to five people, at least one of whom is an adult responsible for the group. We only have a limited number of tickets available as we want to ensure everyone has the best experience of the Forest.

Hedgerow Berry Bootleggers - Drink making from Forest foraging
Saturday 21 September, 10:00 - 12:30

Just for adults, join us for an early autumn stroll around the woodland at Middle Spernal Farm collecting berries from the established hedgerows before heading back to use your foraging finds to inspire your choice of drink, using the recipe card suggestions as a guide.

This event is not suitable for dogs.

Saturday 28 September, 10:00 - 12:30

A volunteering and adventure club for young people aged 12-18. Our Young Foresters have many adventures in the Forest, as well as taking part in a number of forestry and conservation tasks. The club runs on the fourth Saturday of every month.

The Heart of England Forest site Gorcott Hill is a beautiful 62 acre site near Redditch. The site contains semi-natural woodland, hedgerows, grassland and ponds, as well as a vast array of wildlife.
